Atlas Plan installation in Milan City Museum 2026

Atlas Plan at Milano Museo City 2026: surfaces that interpret light in urban spaces

As part of Milan Museo City 2026, Atlas Plan, a brand of Atlas Concorde, is taking part in one of the most significant cultural events on the Milanese scene, helping to redefine the dialogue between design, art, and urban space.

The event, promoted by the Municipality of Milan together with the Museo City Association, creates a widespread system of places, routes, and interventions every year that transform the city into an open cultural platform. The 2026 edition takes on even more symbolic value thanks to its coincidence with the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, a moment of international visibility for the city and its cultural identity.

In this context, Atlas Plan is participating in the special project "In Vetrina" (In the Window), an initiative that takes art out of traditional museum spaces and places it in everyday living spaces. Shop windows thus become temporary narrative devices, capable of placing art in the everyday space of the city.

For the 2026 edition, opening on Friday, February 6, Atlas Plan—alongside Atlas Concorde—presents an exhibition project created in collaboration with Eredi Nanda Vigo, a central figure in 20th-century visual culture, whose work spanned art, architecture, and design with constant research into the role of light as a generative element of space.

The installation will be hosted at Atlas Concorde Studio Milano and will remain open to visitors until March 5.

Inside the showroom, Atlas Plan surfaces do not serve as a simple backdrop, but take on an active role in constructing the experience. The large slabs interact with Nanda Vigo's luminous works, creating an environment in which matter and light influence each other, altering the perception of space, proportions, and distances.

The exhibition is divided into three distinct sections, in which the works and materials interact in different ways. The works Sun-Ra Eternity, Sun-Ra Bird, and Sun-Ra Life are kindly on loan from JCP Universe.

Sun-Ra Eternity light artwork within the Atlas Plan installation

Sun-Ra Eternity

Sun-Ra Eternity embodies the cyclical nature of time: light manifests itself as a continuous flow, without beginning or end, evoking a continuous energy. This principle finds a natural resonance in Atlas Plan's Sky Stone marble-effect slabs, inspired by the material strength of Brazilian quartzite.

Sun-Ra Bird light installation in the exhibition space

Sun-Ra Bird

Sun-Ra Bird, on the other hand, introduces a vertical and symbolic presence, a luminous sign that crosses the space. The dialogue with Atlas Plan's Travertino Halo White relates momentum and h r solidity, visual lightness and material stability, creating a dynamic balance in which light and matter become a single narrative.

Sun-Ra Life

With Sun-Ra Life, light diffuses in a soft and enveloping way, expanding the depth of the space and gradually revealing its surfaces. In this context, Taj Mahal Noisette by Atlas Plan expresses all its chromatic and material richness, offering a sophisticated and timeless interpretation of the surface.

The installation will also feature the scale prototype Trigger of Space by Nanda Vigo, an authentic tool for perceptual exploration which, thanks to points of reference and orientation, allows perspectives to be multiplied, inviting viewers to observe matter from different angles. The exhibition is completed by Cronotopi, which reflects Nanda Vigo's thoughts on the concepts of time and space as fluid and interconnected dimensions.

With its participation in Milano Museo City 2026, Atlas Plan reaffirms its role as an interpreter of surface as an active architectural element, capable of dialoguing with contemporary art and transforming the exhibition space into a place of experience, research, and perception.
